Forget Me Not

Betty, an elderly woman, embroiders quietly, recounting her childhood during the Second World War. She had three invisible pets tethered to her by strings—the only way to keep them close. One night, amidst an air raid, she was forced to abandon them. Though she searched everywhere, time passed, and Betty grew old, carrying the feeling of something missing. Eventually, she realized that her imaginary friends were never truly lost—they had always lived within her, a part of her being all along.

Director’s Statement

“Forget Me Not” draws inspiration from my childhood imaginary friends and conversations with my great-aunt about her past. It represents rediscovering one’s beliefs through memories, illustrating how what feels lost is often within us all along.
