Love Notes to Grievers by Angela E. Morris

When grief descended, my mind went foggy and my eyes felt like they’d been scoured with a Brillo pad from all the crying.

During my season of grief, this book became a gift. It traveled with me everywhere— moving from the nightstand, to the kitchen counter, into my purse and the car console.

Angela Morris wrote the book that I, as a griever, needed as a companion for dark times. A soft place for my non-bleary eyes that leaked like broken pipes could take in a few pages or just one.

It’s a collection of love notes - some just a few words, other memories recalled with piercing clarity, a couple cheeky essays that allow her pragmatic wit to make you laugh at the irony of it all. Let her wisdom be your road map too through this jagged terrain and may we all meet together, grief-wizened and more expansive, at the end.
